Floral Fun

Along with home renovations and projects, we also recently did floral arrangements for one of my brother's college friends (and of course now a family friends) wedding.

This was such a simple, gorgeous and FUN wedding!  We had so much fun putting together so many arrangements.

So first off, my brother has a business known as Brandon Pruett Designs located in San Franscio.  He does garden designing, and let me tell you...he does AMAZING work that will completely blow your mind!

So he has taught mom and I to do arrangements and the ins and outs of wedding flowers.
(Mom, Brother and I)

Four years ago, he did ALL of my flowers for our wedding with the help of friends and family. He ordered most of the flowers from the flower market out in CA and had them shipped to us. Which made everything even more special.

For Amy and Bob's wedding, he also shipped the florals from CA and as soon as they arrive they were all put in buckets in her parents garage.

Then all the florals were transferred to the hotel tell room...I mean our floral department. :)

We set up in a hotel room...a FREEZING hotel room because of course you have to keep it cold to keep the flowers fresh as long as possible.

We first processed the roses.  This involves getting all the thorns and the lower leaves off.  Luckily we had tarps down on the floor otherwise that would have been even more of a mess than it was to clean up!

Next we started arranging.  We made arrangements in large mason jars, small jars and the little unique random glasses.  This made it more of a casual feel but still were very elegant and gorgeous.

We made enough cluster of arrangements for 22..or 24...or 21 tables. (Mom and I for some reason had a really hard time counting all the tables...we will blame it on the heat :) )  We also made little cute arrangements for random tables, like gift table, drinks, etc.

Then came the bouquets for all the bridesmaids and of course the bride!

We also made boutonnieres for the guys in the wedding and family members.

Then came the arbor! Brother made a large greenery rope with eucalyptus and then we filled in with roses and hints of dried lavender.

So after we made all the arrangements, it was time to transfer everything from the hotel room to the wedding site.  I was just a TAD nervous driving the car FULL of so many fragile arrangements.

Once we got there and unloaded, started setting up, we went full speed until 30 minutes before the wedding.  SHEW!!

Everything turned out SO beautiful and was such a fun night celebrating a wonderful couple!
